  PLEASE AVOID ROBERTS AT ALL COSTS I’ve spent thousands of dollars here for over 15yrs but never ever again. First of all, I had to tow my caddy there it wouldn’t start. After asking me continually how much I wanted to spend to spend to fix it he decided that I needed new plugs and he wanted to charge me 4 hrs of labor to switch out the plugs. (Typical job cost 2.6 hrs of labor) he explained to me that all sorts of problems could happen during that time and something could break or something else could happen. I suggested that if something brakes perhaps he should get another mechanic. He said that he had the best mechanic in the area. I suggested if he’s so great why would it take 4 hrs to change 6 spark plugs. Basically no reply. After replacing the plugs it still didn’t start and the owner suggested that he had no idea why it wouldn’t start and that I had to pay for more hrs of labor to figure out the problem. Instead of figuring out what needed to be done to fix the problem in his professional opinion was that I needed a new engine for $4500 after consulting his friend from Cadillac. Quite frankly I could see it in the faces of the staff that he was working me for big pay day but I took meticulous care of this car and I knew I didn’t need a new motor.
  
  As a result , I spoke with a friend that has over 30 yrs of automotive experience and he personally called the owner to suggest a couple of alternatives to get it back running. It fell on deaf ears so I decided to tell Roberts to shut it down and I will take my business else where. The owner kept pushing for the new motor instead of trying to figure out why it didn’t start. This mechanical trick of trying to up-sell on labor and parts is almost criminal. After I decided to have it delivered to another shop to have it looked at the owner called me and explained that it was a miracle they got it back running before the tow got there. He’s explanation was one for the books how he got it started. Ready for this.... he said his Cadillac friend told him if he stepped on the accelerator a certain way it may start. The problem is that it is a fuel injected car and you don’t need to ever step on the gas pedal. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Absolutely a true story find an honest mechanic in Homer and when you do please let me know.
